Castle Socerb

Castle Socerb or Castle Strmec offers a beautiful view of Trieste, the Gulf of Trieste and Slovenian Istria. Due to its strategic position, a fort already emerged during Illyrian times. The castle was gradually fortified during 13th century. Its current image is only a modest memory of past times, due to various wars and constant changing of ownership.

Wine Fountain Marezige

Ankaran’s Shell Dune or better know by the locals as The Shell Cemetery is part of the coast where you can find a huge variety of shells and snails. Krkavče stone

The elongated and roughly worked 2.5m high stone is no longer standing in its original place, but it was moved from its immediate vicinity. Carved human images with wide-open arms and a beamed ball on their heads have long stirred the imagination of passers-by. The rich oral tradition and customs have been only partially preserved to this days.
